Movies in my life - 2

సినిమా........contd .


గురుదత్ " ప్యాసా" సినిమా 1991 వరకు చూడలేదు . రాంబాబు  పరిచయమైన తరువాత వాడితో కలిసి  "లమ్హే " అనే హిందీ  సినిమా  చూశాను . అందులో అనుపంఖేర్ , శ్రీదేవి ఒక parody song పాడతారు . ఆ parody song లో, అది mixture of all songs ,     "जाने वो कैसे लोग थे जिनके प्यार को प्यार मिला" అని పాడతాడు అనుపం ఖేర్. నాకు ఆ lyric బాగా నచ్చింది. అప్పుడు మొదలెట్టాను ఈ సాంగ్ ఎందులోదని వెతకడం. అప్పుడు తెలిసింది నాకు "ప్యాసా" గురించి. అప్పుడు cassette తెచ్చుకుని చూశాను. ఒక highly talented introvert ఎలా తనలో తనతో, తనుండే ప్రపంచంతో సమాధానపడటానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తాడో ఆ సినిమా.అందులో నాకు బాగా నచ్చిన సీన్, auditorium లో హీరో వర్ధంతి సమావేశం, అతను రాసిన కవితల పుస్తక ఆవిష్కరణ జరుగుతుంది. అతను బ్రతికుండగానే చచ్చిపోయాడని చెప్పి publicity ఇస్తారు. అతని అన్నలు, అతని మొదటి ప్రియురాలు, ఆమె భర్త , వృత్తి రీత్యా వేశ్య అయినా ఇతని కవిత్వం విని inspire అయ్యి అన్నీ మానేసి ఇతన్ని ప్రేమించే అమ్మాయి,జన సందోహం అందరూ అక్కడ ఉంటారు. అప్పుడు ఆ చీకటి గా ఉన్న  auditorium లోకి doors ,with bright light , ఓపెన్ అవుతాయి. back ground లో ఉన్న light లో హీరో, హీరో తాలూకు silhouette   - అతను మెల్లిగా పాడటం మొదలెడతాడు. "ये महलों ये तख्तों ये ताजों की दुनिया - ये इंसान  के दुश्मन समाजों की दुनिया........ये दुनिया अगर मिल भी जाए तो क्या है" అని. ఆ బ్లాకు అండ్ వైట్ imagery ,ఆ representation of sequence , నిజంగా గురుదత్ కి hats off . ఆఖరికి  హీరో విసుగెత్తి అన్నిటినీ వదిలేసి, he simply  walks into the horizon for a better world .


1993 లో "Manichihrathazhu "అనే మలయాళం movie release అయింది. ఫాజిల్ దాని director . తెలుగు లో దాని dubbed version "ఆత్మ రాగం" అని రిలీజ్ అయింది. పూర్ణా theathre లో only morning shows.  నేను college అయిపోయి on and off ఉద్యోగాలు చేస్తూ,పని లేకుండా తిరిగే రోజులలో ఈ సినిమా చూశాను. mind blowing . ఆ సినిమా theme , concept , డైరెక్టర్ కి medium మీద ఉండే పట్టు, అది చూపించిన తీరు fantastic .  This is one of the best rated film in my personal diary . అందులో నాకు నచ్చిన సీన్ అందరికీ నచ్చినదే, శోభనకి national best actress award తెచ్చింది. హీరోయిన్ లోని  split personality బయటికి వచ్చే time లో sudden  గా  తమిళ్ లో మాట్లాడుతూ" విడమాట్టే  , నా ఇప్పపో ....నీ విడమాట్టే ..... " అని మంచం ఎత్తి పడేస్తుంది. 
నేను thrill అయ్యి నా friends అందరిని పోరు పెట్టి తీసుకు పోయాను. ఎవడికి నచ్చిందో నచ్చలేదో తెలియదు. నేను దాని మళయాళ మాతృక CD నా personal ఆల్బం లో పెట్టేసుకున్నాను.
ఆ సినిమా తెలుగులో ఎక్కువ ఎవడూ  చూడలేదు, కానీ "చంద్రముఖి" రజనీకాంత్ సినిమా మాత్రం సూపర్ హిట్. may be మాస్ ని ఇది బాగా entertain చేసినట్టుంది. రెండిటినీ compare చేస్తే నాకు ఆత్మరాగమే నచ్చింది.


1996 లో నా శ్రీమతి తో నేను చూసిన మొదటి సినిమా "గులాబి". ఆ సినిమా కంటే సినిమా హాల్లో నా శ్రిమతినే నేను ఎక్కువ చూశాను. కొత్త పెళ్లి కదా. అదీ మొదటిసారి సినిమా. అందుకే ఆ సినిమా గురించి నా observation కంటే నా శ్రీమతి ఎలా feel అవుతున్నాది, ఎలా react అవుతున్నాది అన్నదాని మీద focus ఎక్కువై  సినిమా సరిగ్గా చూడలేదు.


నేను 2008 లో హైదరాబాద్ లో ఉన్నప్పుడు నా ఫ్రెండ్ సుబోద్ "గమ్యం" సినిమా గురించి చెప్పాడు. వాడు ఈ సినిమా గురించి చాలా చెప్పాడు. నేను వాడి వెంట పడితే ఇంక విసుగెత్తి నన్ను తీసుకుని వెళ్ళాడు. ఆ సినిమాలో హీరో హీరోయిన్ కోసం వెతుక్కుంటూ ఉంటాడు. ఆ ప్రయత్నంలో తనని తనే తెలుసుకుంటాడు. life అంటే ఏమిటి అని తెలుసుకుంటాడు. దాని montage point ఈ సినిమా లో నాకు నచ్చిన సీన్. కొడుకు, అతని ఫ్రెండ్ ఒక దొంగని తండ్రి దగ్గిరకి పోలీసులు తీసుకువస్తారు.
తండ్రి:  జానకి దొరికిందా
కొడుకు: లేదు
తండ్రి: ఒక దొంగ దొరికాడు
కొడుకు: వీడు దొంగని నాకు తెలుసు, కానీ నీకు తెలియదు వీడు మనిషేనని.........
తండ్రి: నీకు life గురించి తెలియదు అంటాడు.
కొడుకు: నేను పుట్టినప్పుడే అమ్మ చచ్చిపోయింది. I am living her life too. 25 years చదువుకుని నాకు లైఫ్ గురించి ఏమి తెలియదు. జానకి కోసం వెతికే నాకు నేనే దొరికాను. " life అంటే  నేనొక్కడినే బతకడమనుకున్నాను. నా చుట్టూ ఉండే నలుగురితో share చేసుకుని బతకడమని ఇప్పుడే తెలుసుకున్నాను"


ఇవి కాకుండా ఎన్నో సినిమాలు ఉన్నాయి నాకు నచ్చినవి.
మాయా బజార్  , enter the dragon , షోలే, god father (ఇంగ్లీష్), back to the future , matrix  and the list is endless . ప్రస్తుతానికి ఇవి. మళ్ళీ ఇంకోసారి నా బ్లాగ్ మరీ బరువెక్కినప్పుడు సినిమాల గురించి ఇలాగే రాస్తాను. 


నా స్నేహితులు వాళ్ళకి ఈ cinema post ఎలా అనిపించిందో చెప్తే సంతోషిస్తాను.

    finally for today the author of this blog drew lot of comparisons between 1942 a lovestory and malgudi days. i post here one of my best heard comments. even rambabu was a part of that conversation. heres the observartions:

    1942 a love story was set in a imaginary town. beautifully shot and ever lasting music are great points. however the settings never look real.
    malgudi days is david in comparision to this goliath. a tv serial with different episodes happening mostly in malgudi an imagunary town created by rk narayan. The intensity of the program was such there were lot aspiring tourists who approached rail and bus stations those days to travel to malgudi. in the words of musafir shankarnag the director with minmum resources created malgudi. you see a malgudi railway station streets, market yard and what not. and you see a real town not a setting. the music in malgudi was also very special. the cartoons by rk laxman were a treat to watch during titles.

    the dialogues costumes and furniture in 1942 look like arranged and practised and wee the grandeur
    the same in malgudi are natural and we live the era

    my one:
    the vanmdematram episode in 1942 was really good but emotions are forced not genuine

    when swamy in malgudi says vandemataram and spreads his hand for the beatings of english teacher you feel your natural pariotic instincts on a rise.

    now i feel its time to give a more infoline and me review on malgudi and 1942.
    watch both
    one is a grand feast
    another is a dinner served in a open meadow with cool breeze flowing around and every cuisine giving you immense delight.

    dear sir
    why you are feeling cheated - you are not the only one in his life who impart all qualities,faith. it is not that you impart same platonic fundamentals to all the people come your way. it is not give and take policy as it is not business. you sow the seed and that is your duty what you have opted for. if the land is not fertile enough to give way for a big tree which bears fruits - what if a trial is lost - but your zeal to continue with the mission is not lost. nothing has gone into drain, he might have been more rigid and self centered if your lessons are not imparted. definitely somebody who understands you, his presence matters when you are in need. but you made yourself and your students so strong (the voices i can feel from their mails)that you and your precious students can be of support many more. the strength and morale they show in the mails is fantastic. what if one stray incident happens. how it can demoralize you and your spirit. can you tell all those who show good spirit in mails are strictly adhering to what they say or is it simple english they put forth. just give what you have and that gives happiness and don't ask for anything in return because it may be the cause for your regret. you survived all treachery, bruises and hardships life has given and accepted them as a token of appreciation for your perseverance and sustenance and just don't get lost in trivial things.

    its his decision.why are you wasting your time. you matter. its simple.

    kamesh sir, i wrote a long mail to you months back and kept it as a draft. in that mail i felt pyaasa was the film that reflects India. Its the others on the stage and those who sit and watch the people on the stage what India is all about not the poet. kudos to gurudutt who presented us the true colours of people. i treasure the dvd of pyaasa.thank you for taking me down the memory lane

    after long years i am sad to see you like this. forget it sir. we have other works to do
